FAQ
On your initial visit, please bring doctors orders for physical therapy, any applicable insurance referrals or referral numbers, your insurance card, photo ID, and any other appropriate billing information.
In most cases, health insurance will cover your treatment. During your first visit, you will speak with our patient representative to clarify your insurance coverage.
In California, you do not need a referral to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist. Some insurances do require a referral. Our friendly staff would be happy to determine if a referral is needed.
To initiate a program of therapy, the therapist examines the patient. This includes obtaining a patient history, performing relevant systems reviews, and selecting and administering specific tests and measurements to obtain data. The majority of times you will actually be treated the first time you come in.
All exams are private. Loose-fitting, comfortable clothing is recommended. You may want to wear or bring shorts if we are treating an ankle or knee.
Each visit will be between 30-60 mins.
This is not an easy question to answer. You may need one visit or you may need several months of treatment depending upon our condition. Your physical therapist and your doctor will help you decide how long you will be treated.
